The Phillip Island Bulldogs travelled to Fish Creek this week for their first road trip of the season. After last week’s good result, the Island were up against it with a number of key players out through injury. Jamie Robinson, Jarvis Weston, Kade Murphy, Kevin Taylor and Matt Brown were welcomed into the side for their first senior games off the year. Read more »

Fish Creek Bound

After an impressive win in the first round the magoo’s made their way down to Fish Creek in the first of three away games in a row. Due to many changes in the seniors, the team was struggling to fill the bench prior to the game. Luckily the thirds stuck their hand up and we were able to field a full side. Read more »

Seniors – Rnd 1: Phillip Island v Kilcunda-Bass (Home)

Phillip Island Bulldogs started the 2010 season with the Easter Blockbuster against our arch rivals, the Kilcunda-Bass Panthers for the Eric Marks Cup. The sun was out and one of the biggest crowds seen at the Cowes oval had turned out to watch the boys in action. The Island welcomed new players Scott McDonnell and Wesley and Kingsley Bilney to the senior side and welcomed back past players Bill Richardson, Chris Dykes and James Mann.

Every year the side look forward to kicking off the season against the traditional rivals in the big Easter clash. New coach Chris Dallinger was pleasantly surprised when the teams were finalised on Friday night. The side was blessed with a wealth of senior experience that any Two’s side would envy. Under 18s - Rnd 1: Phillip Island v Kilcunda-Bass (Home)

Footy's back and once again the Island took on arch rivals and closest neighbour Kilcunda Bass. Interest was mounting to see what side the U18's were going to have with last year’s U15 lads coming up and several of the boys playing their final season of junior footy. Coach again this season is in the very capable hands of Andrew Dallinger and captain this year will be Ben Tester. Andy stressed that all top age boys are to be leaders on the field and spread the responsibilities all game. Read more »

 

Under 15's - Rnd 1: Phillip Island v Kilcunda-Bass (Home)

The U 15s took on Killy-Bass on Saturday for their first hit out of the year under new coach Laurie Angwin The first quarter was played at a hectic pace, with the ball moving quickly from end to end but no goals to show for it.

Major social events planned for the season include, A Super Sportsman’s night with TV and Radio high flyers, a Ball, an Auction Night, $5000 Draw, Seafood Night, and Presentation night. Read more »

 

On the ground

The senior coach Brett Beaumont is happy with the turnout of mostly local players and has high hopes for the season, new players include Brent Murdoch, Greg Alexander, Greg Morton, Kevin Taylor, and John Parry. Read more »

New Acting President and Committee members

It is with regret we advise that our president Noel Burrell has informed the committee that due to personal reasons he is stepping down from the president’s position until the end of the Season.
