Phillip Island v Foster (Home)
View Current Ladder and Results
Phillip Islands U18s took on third placed Foster in an expected tough battle. Things didn't quite turn out that way with the young Doggies comfortably beating a very disappointing opposition. Not at any stage were they in trouble and kept the Foster boys goalless. Even with late withdrawals, due to illness, of some of our talented players, the lads just stepped up and got the job done. Ben Hamilton was fantastic in the ruck as was Dan Kirby at half back. Dean Hewitt and Darcy Garton controlled the wings with Redders, Dylan Holland and Tom Cole dominating the midfield. Mitch Price made a welcome return to the team, but l suspect not for long with a great game kicking 5 goals even though he had been in bed all week. Johnston continued his consistent year with 3 goals and Hamilton with 2. We head down to Inverloch this week and then the finals begin.
Note: well done to the boys of the Phillip Island Cricket Club for running the canteen and giving some of the usual volunteers a day off. They did very well and it was much appreciated.
