Phillip Island v DWWWW (Home)
View Current Ladder and Results
Phillip Island's u/18 team played host to DWWW this week and came away with an expected win They did not have it all their own way, as the boys from Devon applied plenty of pressure and lots of determination to make it a hard for the our boys to get their run on game going. The forward line seemed to be always overcrowded, making goals hard to come by. Inaccurate kicking in the second quarter kept the opposition in the match at half time. The third quarter saw the young Doggies be out scored as DWWWW made the most of their forward thrusts, but coming into the last they composed themselves and piled on six goals to run out easy winners. Jimmy Blackwell played a great game constantly driving the ball into attack and also picked up a couple of goals himself. Mitch Guy also kicked two goals and was tireless in the ruck all day up against some big boys. Midfielders; Wright, Cole, Dwyer and Pluck had plenty of the footy and Ant Emery played a great game for the opposition.
We have a bye next week and then come up against second on the ladder Korumburra-Bena which should be a great game. Our boys would want to work on their goal kicking skills and game plans to be ready for them as they are a formable team.
