The boys from Toora took a ride down the highway to play the very formidable Under18 Phillip Island team. The game started off evenly with only a couple of points separating the teams. In the second term the Island pups started to get things moving with Ben Hamilton dominating across half forward and Marcus Wright winning the centre clearances. The island opened up a handy 25 point lead going into the half time break. Again the third quarter was an even battle with the Toora lads not giving up. The backline led by Dan Kirby, Gav Powles and Neil Pluck stood up and continually drove the ball out of their defensive area. Around the ground Mitch Price with his freakish skills was dominating the aerial duals as was Johnston down forward and the on ball brigade of Wagner, Dwyer , Cole and Holland started to get their hands on the ball and get it up to the forwards. The last quarter saw the Island ran away with the game with a seven goal term to run out easy winners by 76 points. The score probably did not reflect the closeness of the game as the opposition put up a strong effort and only faded in the last quarter.
